The
Minerva
Educational and Treatment Center,
co-founded in 1995
by Dr.
Betty deMaye-Caruth and
is dedicated to educating, practicing and promoting
awareness of holistic healthcare options.
An
Education Center. We offer classes to anyone who
is interested in learning alternative and complementary
methods of healing, or who is looking
for
a change in their life, career or physical and/or
emotional wellness. This
includes, but is not limited to, classes on Reiki,
Hypnosis, Herbs, Aromatherapy, Healing Touch, Integrated
Energy Therapy and Reflexology. Over the past 12 years
we have trained practitioners in these therapies and
many have opened their own healing centers or gone
into private practice, others have found a new skill
that they use with themselves, family and friends.
A
Private Practice. Dr. Betty has an
office and sees
clients for treatments in many of the therapies that
are taught here. It has been an honor for Dr. Betty
to help people deal with the transitions
that occur in this life. Some are dealing with cancer,
chemotherapy, radiation, depression, the onset of
a sudden illness, divorce or death of a loved one.
A
Voice. We are dedicated to getting the word out
about alternative and complementary medicine. There
are many people in this world who are not aware that
there are many avenues to health and the importance
of treating not just the body, but the mind and spirit.
We try to introduce others to this path through Dr.
Betty's various speaking engagements, the Minerva
Website, E-Newsletter and the many articles that Dr.
Betty has written.
Minerva
is more than just good health, it's all about you,
your needs, your goals!
Minerva
Educational and Treatment Center is dedicated to helping
people learn how to take care of themselves and become
a part of their healing. Located 2 miles outside of
the town of Honesdale, Minerva was established in
1995 to provide information and treatments in what
was then known as holistic medicine to the population
of Wayne County. As the years have passed
the name of holistic medicine has changed to complementary
medicine and we now draw students and clients from
many states. In our 12 years we have seen many people
pass through our doors seeking a better life; many
have become practitioners in the healing arts through
our educational programs, others have found that changes
in their day to day habits helped them to achieve
and maintain wellness in their lives and the lives
of their loved ones.
We offer classes on many therapies such as yoga, reiki
(all levels), aromatherapy, flower essences, integrated
energy therapy and the use of prayer and affirmations.
Dr. Betty also has appointments for private clients.
Private sessions may include many of the therapies
mentioned previously and other techniques to deal
with stress, life style changes, and smoking cessation.
The client and practitioner set up goals and a treatment
plan that is workable for both. There are two practitioners
available five days a week for appointments at Minerva,
Betty
deMaye-Caruth RN, PhD, RM/T CHTP and Patricia
Gahan RN, BS, RA, RM/T, both have been involved
in this work for over 25 years in private practice
and hospital settings. All therapies work in conjunction
with what is prescribed by your physician.
Although many of our classes are offered at Minerva,
Dr. Betty
deMaye-Caruth and her faculty are available for
educational programs or seminars at your place of
business or educational institution. Dr.
Betty has written many health
related articles for various publications and
professional journals, and has provided radio and
television interviews.
This past year we have also produced two programs
on CD, Introduction
to Angels and Introduction
to Aromatherapy. Both CDs have been very
well received and attained high ratings. There is
also a CD for Relaxation
and Healing that has been a best seller.
What ever your goals are for a healthy, happy life,
the Minerva Educational and Treatment Center can help
you achieve them.
